Some time last month, a pretty redhead with a wild streak arrived, all ready to move in. The latest girl to join the clan is Sophie, a lovely ginger vampire hunter by Karolin Felix (etsy link).

Dolly customiser Karolin Felix (now Miss Feliks) is one of my favourite customisers. I'm pretty excited because ever since I began adopting Blythe, I have always wanted to adopt a Karolin Felix girl.

The pretty box Sophie arrived in.

She arrived one day in early June, and was waiting to be picked up at the front desk. (We got her mailed to the office. We do that for some items for various reasons.)

In the lovely box, she was accompanied by some sweets and paper goods, Karolin's Fortune Teller Machine and wall miniatures, to be precise. (Sorry, no unboxing video this time.)

Her base is a Pow Wow Poncho (SBL) and she still sports the lush ginger locks of her original scalp. I'm having some trouble keeping her side parting in place for photographing, but when I do, I can't help but notice her high forehead.

Sophie is every bit a Karolin Felix girl.

She's beautiful, with a slight eroticism about her. Full rosy lips done in the earlier Karolin Felix style, which I love. Of course, her lovely eyes are lined, giving her Karolin Felix's distinctive 'cookie cat eye'. I love how her feathery but bold eyebrows match the colour of her hair.

Her dark and dramatic scalloped eyeliner really sets off her eyechips as well - a greyish enlarged pupil pair by Puppelina, and 3 handpainted pairs by Karolin Felix - the most striking being her golden eyes that seem to stare right into my soul. Babe, I'm human, sorry.

Her 'work' uniform showcases her sense for the vintage/retro. A tea-dyed Bambi dress, with mint coloured mesh stocking, and scalloped black Mary Jane heels.

Her crystal crucifix cross necklace blings in the sunlight, and swinging from her slim hips is a little Vampire Hunter chain belt from which her tools of trade hang within easy reach - a flask of holy water, 2 sharps stakes, a wooden reliquary cross, and a drop of saint's blood.

So, as with clan tradition, Sophie will be was christened with a Japanese name. Most of my redheads have autumn-themed names, but I feel that one would not really suit her. Besides Sophie is a dhampir (well, she is partially human), so my mind keeps wandering to the names of fictional dhampir characters in classic anime/manga series.

Perhaps Miyu (美夕), which means 'beautiful evening' or 'evening beauty', after the titular character in Kyuuketsu-hime Miyu (吸血姫 美夕). Also considered Saya (小夜), the main character in Blood: the Last Vampire (2000) / Blood+ series., but somehow Saya's silent intensity calls for a darker, more brooding girl.... Oh and those mesmerising golden eyes.... I would love to name her after D from the classic Vampire Hunter D (吸血鬼ハンターD)... but I guess not. She is every bit as fiesty as he is, but prettier and much more elegant. (Okay, also not counting the gender aspect.)
