Flutter Sleeve A-Line Dress—Michael Miller Egg Drop Yellow
Completed 2 A-line Blythe dresses 2 weeks ago. One of them was for Sheena of Caramelaw, for her Tokidoki Moofia x Murakami Takashi flower themed custom doll she was making. She mentioned the difficulty she had finding a suitable dress for the doll.
That was when I remembered the Michael Miller fat quarter in my fabric stash. Bought that fabric on impulse a few years ago, and forgot all about it.
The fabric is adorable—'Egg Dot Yellow' from Michael Miller's 'Easter in Gnomeville' collection. The blue dots and the sunny yellow seem to suit the colours she was using on the doll.
The pattern used is a slightly modified version of the A-line dress by Mellissa Cabral on Puchi Collection (free online). Had to widen the armholes due to the addition of the flutter sleeves—had to wing the pattern for the flutter sleeves.
Also added hot pink organza ruffles and turquoise satin ribbon to the hem. Still felt it needed something around the neck. I later added a blue neck ruffle, in a shade similar to the blue dots on the fabric. Final look can be seen on Caramelaw's Instagram post of the doll.
