Little Peryton (Airali Design), A Vision of White & Silver

A little reminder tells me that I first learned to crochet amigurumi one year ago!

Just completed this amigurumi yesterday, so it nicely coincides with this one-year milestone. Here's the mythical fantasy creature, Peryton, but in white and silver.

// Little Peryton, in white and silver. Pattern by Ilaria Caliri of Airali Design. //

He is a pure, beautiful white, with wings shot with silver, and elegant off-white antlers. He is made using the Little Peryton pattern by Ilaria Caliri of Airali Design (available here).

A year ago, I would not have thought I was able to attempt this pattern. But I have, and though I made a few mistakes while making him, I'm still pleased with how he turned out. I started this little fella on 24th July, just before I went off on a staycation to Sentosa, but finished him up shortly after I got back.

Used the x-stitch for this little Peryton instead of the standard v-stitch. I like the tighter, neater finish of the x-stitch. It helps Peryton keep his streamlined shape really well, though he ended up a little smaller. But the work feels a little less flexible, and doesn't feel as "squishy, cuddly soft" (for want of a better description). Both stitches have their own pros and cons, so I guess it is really a matter of personal preference in the end.
