Food Diary - Zucca, London

During the London leg of our 2014 UK trip, we met up with another group of friends over dinner - a group of my friends, though Hubby gets along great with them too.

One of them was keen to try Zucca at Bermondsey Street, known for its contemporary Italian cuisine. Dinner at Zucca was a good experience; in my view, they do contemporary Italian better than Fifteen.

I love burrata the traditional way (i.e. tomatoes, olive oil, rocket, Parma ham), but it's refreshing with smashed peas and pea shoots as well!

For dessert I had the vanilla pannacotta with gooseberries. It was beautiful - perfect wobbly velvety texture. The soft creaminess of the pannacotta was really highlighted by the sharp acid punch of the gooseberries.
